Waiting to fly from the airport at Plekiu or Kontum City to the one at LZ English. I remember that the loadmaster in our plane was watching the scale and talking to the pilot on the intercom. Then the pilot pulling onto the runway and backing up to the end of the runway while the cargomaster watched from the lowered rear door. Pilot then held brakes and rev'd it for all it was worth before starting his takeoff role and using every foot of runway before pulling up. Bet we didn't get up to a 1000 feet all the way across Vietnam.
